Happy Valentines Day 2013

Adam and I have been taking advantage of the student perks. The first was a free night at the High Museum. I was fascinated with the marble sculptures (as they have a ton) and could not fathom how they made marble look like a veil! What a beauty!!

They also had a collection of larger than life paintings - Different from the Nelson Atkins but a great intro to our new museum in our new city.
Afterwards they gave us free tickets to see a full concert from the Atlanta Symphony. Free is good and the classical guitar made it a perfect evening!
Another one of my FAVORITE places so far in Atlanta is the GA tech leisure pool. The slide is amazing and the water is warm enough for even me! I have been improving on my mile time ever so slowly but my back is enjoying swimming again.

Gigantic hot tub too of course. The competition pool is beautiful but was a little intimidating for us!

Learning how to bike places has been exciting.
Look at those stairs! It is a VERY fast and LONG slide! Hope we have visitors to come slide with us!!
We did get a visit from friend/family EA - We forgot to have her bring a bathing suit but tried some restaurants around town and it was just wonderful to sit down and have time with her face to face.

Valentines Atlanta skyline near our home - we are loving living in the city.

Lots of pink for the month of February. We used a new App (new to us) called Scoutmob to find deals in the area that were 50% off - Dinner at one and dessert at another - it was a good find!
Last but certainly not least my little/all grown up cousin Char came to visit. She is so full of life and just blessed our afternoon with her surprise trip to Atlanta (other parties were involved in the trip but we benefited from it:-)). Nashville is not too far and we are loving it too! Its a month for things to love!
Still looking for a job here but hoping praying that by the end of March we will have made a decision!

Moving to Atlanta

In the end our travels took us to Atlanta! After 3 months of everything being in storage we had some movers unload the belongings and had them in our new apartment. Adam had to say goodbye to his TV box that had been 'in the family' for as long as I have known him. The movers brought everything in and started stacking....
....Before...
....After.
Before......
After
after
and more after. Our friends were kind enough to babysit the Honda for the month of December and then arrange for the shipping out. Arrival was in one piece and late at night but we were happy that the car made it!
Adam's first day of school. I could not resist a photo!
Adam's dad was in town for a conference and ended up being our first visitor to our new place.
Celebrating being all moved in with delicious Thai food. We are excited to learn more about the city and I'm spending a decent amount of time searching for a job!

Christmas in Philly

We spent Christmas 2012 in Philly enroute to Atlanta of course! We took the long way around from KC:-) We spent time with Adam's folks and brother seeing the sights and staying mostly out of the cold on the wintery days.

We enjoyed art and some singing and then met up with some Sidor friends, chinese is always a hit!
The night walk with the lights at Longwood Gardens was beautiful. I'm not sure the photos do it justice but it was a wonderful display and we were sure to drink plenty of hot chocolate!

The indoor tropical portion was fantastic and they had decorated palmtrees and orchids to match the season.

On Christmas day Adam received his MUCH anticipated yoga computer. I loved the name and we had been to Best Buy to look at it several times. He was SO excited to play with it and spent several days figuring out how it works so that he would be ready for when grad school starts. I like playing games on the touchscreen!

I'm not sure who was more surprised when I got an ipad, me or Adam. We all wished we had taken a photo of his face! We are all set with technology to begin our lives in Georgia!

We took an afternoon to treck around Philly and then ate a wonderful dinner at the restaurant Adam's brother has been helping at (http://www.willbyob.com/).

We spent the last wintery day at Washington's winter camp. Lots of interesting history a we really could tell how they might have felt the months they lived there with snow on the ground!
